YOUR LOCAL NDIS SUPPORT COORDINATORS –

HELPING YOU NAVIGATE THE NDIS

Specialist Support Coordination

WE ARE HERE.
WE HAVE TIME.
WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE.

Our Story

Pronounced eye-ara, our name means “village” in the language of the people of Kairuku in Papua New Guinea – a word shared with us by our founder’s mother-in-law and chosen with her blessing.

With strong cultural connections between North Queensland and PNG, the name reflects both our community and the way we work. At i’ara, village isn’t just our name, it’s our model of care.

When clients join i’ara, they’re welcomed into our village, and we help strengthen the supports within theirs.

i’ara began at a kitchen table in regional Cairns, created by founder Maddi Wright, whose lived experience and deep community roots shaped our ethos. From day one, our motto has guided everything we do: we are here, we have time, and we’re on your side.

What started as one person supporting her hometown during COVID-19 has grown into a women-led organisation of 40+ specialists across QLD, VIC, NSW and the NT- but our village mindset has remained constant.

We’re local, responsive, and genuinely present. We walk beside people through complexity, bridge systems that often don’t speak the same language, and ensure no one is left navigating it alone.

At i’ara, clients aren’t just supported, they’re backed by a village that truly shows up.

Our Team

i’ara is the largest Support Coordination organisation in Australia, with Support Coordinators supporting people across more than 100 towns. Our company began in Far North Queensland and has since grown to support Australians in South-East Queensland, Victoria, regional and metropolitan New South Wales, and the Northern Territory.

Our regional foundations have given us a deep understanding of the challenges faced by rural and remote communities. Working in areas with limited services has taught us valuable skills, allowing us to innovate, problem-solve, and fill critical gaps in support. As we grow, we bring these strengths into every new region, setting a benchmark for quality, consistency, and commitment.

No matter where we work across Australia, our core values of expert, community-focused support remain at the centre of everything we do.

Our Specialist Support Coordinators come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and customer service–driven roles, and they are local to the communities they support. This makes our team highly relatable and deeply connected to our clients. They are extensively trained in disability and injury support and known for their exceptional work ethic. When our team stands by your side, you will always have the support you need to move forward with confidence.

Complex plan reviews and reporting are our specialty. Our Support Coordinators use an evidence-based approach, supported by a strengths-focused framework, to ensure Participants get the best possible outcomes from their funding. This means ensuring funding meets all disability and injury-related needs while always upholding and promoting human rights.
